mobile data collection for LION monitoring
The Uganda Carnivore Program is a multi-disciplinary organization, devoted to the research and conservation of Uganda's large carnivores, including lions, leopards, and hyenas.
The data collection method with pen and paper was converted to standard forms on a smartphone. With an internet connection, the collected data in the forms is automatically streamed to an online spatial database and online map.
This new set-up facilitates the monitoring of lions, leopards and hyena’s in the Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda.
